Branded by Keary Taylor

The plot intrigued me as I have not read anything about this view of angels, which are described more like demons in disguise. Just don't let a pretty face fool you!

For as long as Jessica can remember she has been experiencing terrible nightmares, walking trials as numerous individuals feeling there searing pain caused by the verdict of how they should spend there afterlife, the monstrous angels decide whether you will be condemned or exalted. But her nightmares soon become her reality when foreign markings begin appearing on her back, almost resembling wings.

The pace was rather slow at the beginning, so it took me a while to get into the story but once I understood the effects of these traumatic experiences that took place in Jessica's dreams I could understand why she made the decisions she had to ultimately make.

Jessica's daily routine of solace changes when Alex turns up in the middle of the night and her world will be forever changed once she begins to trust him enough to tell him the story of her agonising life.

But that doesn't stop there, even though Alex is handsomely attractive another guy steps into the scene while Alex is out of the country dealing with family business. This mysterious guy introduces himself as Cole, who has literary come out of nowhere and is pursuing Jessica at any moment he can get. Jessica feels a connection with him, though she still feels weary of him as his eyes don't always tell the truth.

Even though at times I did find Jessica's actions annoying, I could see past that and that she was only doing what she thought was right at the time, especially since she is the only one that she believes has this never ending nightmare.

In a way I was expecting that finale because of Alex's morals and that his love for Jessica is ever lasting, he will do anything for her even if he has to give up his life for her.

As always I will continue this particular series because it has potential, even if the grammar was poorly edited.
