There's an alien next door. And with his looming height and eerie green eyes, he's hot...until he opens his mouth. He's infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, he lights me up with a big fat bulls-eye. Turns out he has a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal his abilities and the only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to him until my alien mojo fades. If I don’t kill him first, that is.

Onyx
Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro alien connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But we’ve got bigger problems. I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he’s never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?

Between The Lines by Tammara Webber

Emma lands one the biggest roles yet, an adaptation of Pride and Prejudice set in the present day, she stars as the lead female Lisbeth Bennet but thats not all thats on her mind as she will be starring opposite one of Hollywood's bad boys, Reid Alexander. This could be the breakthrough film that Emma needs to gain recognition from the industry but with two guys pursuing her can she make it through in one piece or will she be left broken hearted.

I really liked the concept of this story because I find it fascinating what actors do in their free time away from set, so it was amusing to find out what they actually get up to while the paparazzi aren't around.

I found Emma's character to be quite conflicting at times because of her inner turmoil over who has her heart the most and I'm glad with the decision she made in the end because I did not like who she was with at all! Her best friend Emily supports her through the ups and downs of the never ending drama that goes on off set which I found believable as best friends will always be there for you even if they did get into a fight about nothing only to make up a week later.

Reid has to be one of my all time hated characters, I absolutely could not stand him and he always got his way, like seriously the record of his pants being kept on was less than a week! Reid has some serious issues he has to work on though obviously they do stem from his parents, but if he were just honest with them just like how Emma was then maybe his attitude might become a bit more bearable.

Graham was a great guy throughout, even though he never fully expressed his feelings until the end I'm glad he just finally told the truth.

I was actually surprised about the revelations of Reid and Graham's past, I did not see that coming at all and I don't think Emma did either!

The conclusion has definitely enticed me to read the rest of the series, even if there was a constant back and forth between some of the characters relationship wise. I look forward to read more about Emma's evolving relationship and how the revelation previously mentioned affects it.

JUPITER ASCENDING TRAILER #2

Earlier in the week Warner Bros. released the second trailer for Jupiter Ascending, from this trailer I am able to have a clearer understanding of what the film is actually about as I couldn't make sense of the first one.

In the future, a young destitute human woman gets targeted for assassination by the Queen of the Universe, and begins her destiny to finish the Queen's reign.

GOODREADS ANNOUNCEMENT

As many of you know I have a Goodreads account and I have recently joined a few book clubs on there, so I will be joining in these readathons. The Book Liberators are currently reading Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo, unfortunately I haven't had the chance to pick it up yet, and the other group is YA Book Club. This one in particular we will be reading a new book at the beginning of every month decided by a group poll, next month we will start with Half Bad by Sally Green and in May we have decided on Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi

So expect some reviews especially by these authors in the near future and also if you have the time come and join these clubs and express your opinions about anything you want, though obviously it has to be about books!

Are you already a member with a book group on Goodreads? If so leave the link below so I can check it out!

NIGHT MOVES TRAILER

Ever since watching Taken (2002) I've been a fan of Dakota Fanning, so it's no surprise I've been following her career. Night Moves is a film I've been longing to see and Yahoo Movies exclusively premiered the first trailer.

A drama centered on three environmentalists who plot to blow up a dam.

What are your first impressions of this trailer? Will you be watching the movie when it comes out later this year?

CHRIS EVANS TO QUIT ACTING

With the release of Captain America: The Winter Soldier Variety published an article with Chris Evans, who revealed that he will not be returning to acting after the completion on all the Marvel films that he's contracted to do, but will instead focus on his directing career.
“I’ve known for a while I wanted to direct,” Evans says. “But (time) never really opens up. There’s another movie to do, there’s another acting job. It just got to a point where I was like, you know what — I have to do this.”
“If I’m acting at all, it’s going to be under Marvel contract, or I’m going to be directing,” he says. “I can’t see myself pursuing acting strictly outside of what I’m contractually obligated to do.”
“Without these movies, I wouldn’t be directing,” he reckons. “They gave me enough overseas recognition to greenlight a movie. And if I’m speaking extremely candidly, it’s going to continue to do that for as long as the Marvel contract runs.”

LOGAN LERMAN CONFIRMS PERCY JACKSON THREE MOVIE WON'T BE HAPPENING

Logan Lerman officially confirmed to MTV News that the film adaptation of Percy Jackson: The Titan's Curse won't be happening at all.

Logan Lerman won't be returning to the role of Percy Jackson in a third film based on the long running YA fantasy series of the same name. In fact, a third movie won't be happening at all.
"It's not happening," Lerman said when MTV News asked about a threequel at the junket for Darren Aronofsky's upcoming biblical fantasy "Noah."
"It's been a great experience for me," Lerman said of the role. "It's opened up a lot of doors for me, but I don't think it's happening."

Alternative Vampire Academy Titles

Richelle Mead announced on her blog, blue-succubus.livejournal.com, today a list, eighty to be exact, of possible Vampire Academy titles before eventually choosing Vampire Academy as her series title.

And now you're probably wondering...what were those titles that got rejected? So glad you asked. For the first time ever, I give you all the suggested and rejected titles for the Vampire Academy series.

What do you think of these newly surfaced titles, any contenders, or will Vampire Academy always be the one and only title that fits the criteria?

TEEN WOLF - ACTOR EXIT

It's a sad day for Teen Wolf fans as the finale aired Monday night we found out the latest victim of the nogitsune, who has caused strife, chaos, and pain throughout season 3B. Since airing fans are in shock after learning that a series regular will not be returning for season 4, announced earlier today by E! Online.

“As for how Sharman’s exit will be addressed in season four, Davis spills that Isaac and Argent (JR Bourne), Allison’s father, headed off to France at the end of the season three finale. “The story is going to be that Argent sort of takes a sabbatical in France to deal with the death of his daughter and Isaac goes with him, that’s why you see them leaving out the door.” (It’s also worth mentioning that Davis confirms, “JR is a part of season four.”)”

Below Daniel Sharman tweets about the departure.

PAPER TOWNS - NAT WOLFF CONFIRMED AS LEAD

John Green fans don't need to speculate any further, Nat Wolff has publicly confirmed he will be playing the lead role in Paper Towns as Quentin.

Paper Towns takes place in Orlando, Florida, but this is far from a Disney World ride. The protagonist is Quentin, a young man who shared a jarring experience with his neighbor Margo–they found a man who committed suicide. They grew apart but one night he finds her at his bedroom window, dressed like a ninja. She enlists him in a campaign to get revenge on people who’ve hurt her. Next day, she vanishes as he is left to ponder the ramifications of the evening. Then he begins getting clues from her and has to follow them.

City of Bones: The Little Book of Quotes

This is a fun 'little book' that ties in with the movie, unfortunately some of the quotes didn't make the final cut which was kind of annoying because they're so damn funny!

The plot intrigued me as I have not read anything about this view of angels, which are described more like demons in disguise. Just don't let a pretty face fool you!

For as long as Jessica can remember she has been experiencing terrible nightmares, walking trials as numerous individuals feeling there searing pain caused by the verdict of how they should spend there afterlife, the monstrous angels decide whether you will be condemned or exalted. But her nightmares soon become her reality when foreign markings begin appearing on her back, almost resembling wings.

The pace was rather slow at the beginning, so it took me a while to get into the story but once I understood the effects of these traumatic experiences that took place in Jessica's dreams I could understand why she made the decisions she had to ultimately make.

Jessica's daily routine of solace changes when Alex turns up in the middle of the night and her world will be forever changed once she begins to trust him enough to tell him the story of her agonising life.

But that doesn't stop there, even though Alex is handsomely attractive another guy steps into the scene while Alex is out of the country dealing with family business. This mysterious guy introduces himself as Cole, who has literary come out of nowhere and is pursuing Jessica at any moment he can get. Jessica feels a connection with him, though she still feels weary of him as his eyes don't always tell the truth.

Even though at times I did find Jessica's actions annoying, I could see past that and that she was only doing what she thought was right at the time, especially since she is the only one that she believes has this never ending nightmare.

In a way I was expecting that finale because of Alex's morals and that his love for Jessica is ever lasting, he will do anything for her even if he has to give up his life for her.

As always I will continue this particular series because it has potential, even if the grammar was poorly edited.

Wait For You by J. Lynn

I absolutely loved this story and cannot wait to read the next books in this series! I actually prefer the US covers compared to the UK ones but now I have a better understanding of the meaning behind the UK cover.

Avery Morganstern wants to begin her life again and by that she wants a fresh new start, she choses a college on the other side of the country, so very far away from home where nobody knows her or what happened to her on that fateful halloween night, though with hints along the way we get an understanding of how Avery became the person she is today. But when Avery is late for her first day of class she accidentally bumps into socialite Cameron Hamilton, a guy who knows pretty much everyone on campus, except that he doesn't know her but as sure as hell wants to. Who would of thought that the first guy Avery stumbles into would be the one to bring the spark back into her life, but will her secrets hold her back from an undeniable attraction.

With a dark past aside there were so many hilarious moments in this book, I've never smiled so much at a book before, so that sure is a good sign!

I loved Cam he is such an awesome character, a totally don't judge a book by its cover type of boy! Cam and Avery have such a complicated relationship, but aren't all relationships like that?! They end up going through all the ups and downs, learning new things about each other day by day. Of course Cam knows there's more to Avery's story, but he ends up being such an understanding and patient guy.

Be aware that there are some explicit scenes, so read at your own risk!

This is definitely my number one favourite of Jennifer L. Armentrout so far!

Star Struck by Jamie Campbell

A very quick read to pass the time. The band in this story reminded me of One Direction, I don't know why but everything that was said about them made it felt like this is some 1D fan fic!

Melrose spends her time fantasising about her favourite boy band, Two Dimension, along with her best friend Dallas. They plot to become their girlfriends but never seem to get any success, until one day Melrose misses a stalk out session with Dallas to try and locate the band in a nearby hotel. Instead she has to spend her time working her last shift of the week at Burger Nation, while emptying the garbage outside she stumbles upon a mystifying boy hanging around in the alley and begs for her help, which as you guessed she obliged. This guy just so happens to be Cole Newton, from the in demand boy band Two Dimension, with this new found revelation Melrose decides to keep their meeting a secret but just for how long?

I found Melrose quite bland a character and even annoying at times, though I suppose that's because of her background. Dallas was even worse, I wondered why Melrose was even friends with her, Dallas clearly wants to be miss popular!

Like I said before, a very quick read, though don't be surprised if you don't like the characters as there was clearly not enough page time for character development.

UPDATE #1

As you can probably guess by now I'm back and revamping up my blog! I've kept the style the same but changed the colour to vibrant springtime one rather than a dull murky colour, so it isn't too much a change if you've been following me for a while!

I'm currently in the process of converging my Goodreads reviews onto here, so thats the reason why you may see more posts than usual!

Happy blogging!

The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith

Seeing as the book is quite short in length, it was a very light read. I was expecting the basis of the book to be held at the airport and on the flight which is was but it also included the event Hadley was attending, so maybe the summary and the cover were quite misleading for me!

Let's start off with the character's, we begin with Hadley missing her flight by four minutes and she just so happens to get friendly with a boy called Oliver, who is going to the same destination as her. Hadley from what I could tell is quite a troubled young person struggling through the heartache of a divorce that tore her family apart, so she herself has a lot of issues to deal with, but when she meets Oliver all her troubles disappear and it makes her feel whole again almost as if he radiates the warmth from her.

Sometimes I would find Hadley annoying because she wouldn't opening speak her mind and would rather stay silent to make a point rather than to be honest. But I guess thats what character development is for as she finally tells her dad about how the divorce affected her after all these years.

Oliver appears as the rescuer at the airport saving Hadley in a time of need, a true gentleman helping with her luggage and keeping her company. Though it seems to be throughout the whole course of the book that Oliver was keeping a dark secret all along and it isn't revealed until over halfway.

Hadley and Oliver have great chemistry throughout and bring out the better sides of one another.

All in all an enjoyable standalone to read to pass the time, which helps if you get readers block!

Katie McGarry Announcement

As I was scanning my Twitter timeline I noticed that Katie McGarry has a huge announcement for her readers April 8th... I wonder if it will be a new book announcement or maybe a release date!?

What are your thoughts on this?

LUX: BEGINNINGS vs. OBSIDIAN

Now that the cover has been released what is your verdict over the two covers?

I have conflicting views about the new bind up cover so I am just going to say them now! I do in actual fact prefer the new version, this is because the model fits the description of the main character, Katy, whereas the model on the previous covers did not, however I do prefer the backgrounds on the older covers compared to this one. I would like to know who they have casted for Daemon, as the model for the previous cover fits the bill, so that will be interesting to find out!

Will you be buying this new cover, will you get the limited edition hardback ones? I know I will be! Are you annoyed that the fifth and final book won't match your old covers? Do you prefer the old covers? If any of you are aware once they have sold all the current covers in circulation they will no longer print that version, so you may have a collectable in your possession!

Stay tuned for the next cover reveal for LUX: CONSEQUENCES next Monday!
